93 worked with Colemans Deli, an award winning café set in the heart of the Peak District, to create a website that integrated seamlessly into their existing system
Colemans Deli is a family run cafe based in Hathersage in the heart of the Peak District. Becoming well established over the past 20 years, Colemans Deli offers the thousands of walkers, hikers and campers who visit the Peaks every year a welcome retreat from the elements, and a chance to refuel with delicious food and great coffee – as well as providing a space for locals and families to meet and relax.
Colemans Deli originally reached out to 93 to build a website that would integrate the system they use in store with their online processes, making it easier for customers to order picnic boxes online and creating a smoother and more efficient system for staff to fulfil those orders.
We saw the opportunity to work with Colemans to show exactly what we can do for a smaller business – creating a website that looks great and functions well both on the customer facing side and behind the scenes.
One of the first things we do when beginning to build a website is design the sitemap. We base this on our conversations with the customer, the brief that arises from those conversations, and our analysis of what the business already has on their existing site.
We create clear navigation menus to make finding your way around a site intuitive and simple, and add in text linking and call to action buttons throughout the page copy to make it quick and easy for site users to get where they need to be.
Colemans Deli was using Square App instore on their till, which took an order from a customer, then sent a ticket to the kitchen for the cooks to make it up. We integrated Square onto the website ordering system, meaning that customers ordering a Colemans Deli picnic box to take away could put the order through simply and smoothly online. Then, the kitchen staff could pick it up without any further input from additional staff monitoring the website orders.
This makes the whole process more efficient, cutting out “touch points” for the staff and freeing them up to do other tasks elsewhere. The customer receives seamless service experience and Colemans Deli is run in a more efficient and cost effective way – just one of the ways 93 can help small businesses level up.
