For over 300 years, the Cascade has been the centrepiece of the garden at Chatsworth. It was built in the 1690s to much wonder and amazement and is now cared for by the Chatsworth House Trust.
Centuries of use have resulted in serious water leakage, putting the structure at serious risk. To safeguard the Cascade for future generations, the water has been switched off and fundraising has begun for the major restoration project.
With such an important campaign to launch, we assisted the Trust in developing a creative strategy and in producing various promotional assets. We worked closely with the Trust to identify their three main audience groups in order to create an approach that chimed with their visitors.
A landing page with striking imagery and footage of the Cascade was built by our digital team, inviting visitors to participate in helping to ‘turn it back on’. With simple messaging and obvious call to actions, the website tells the story of the Cascade – its origins, structure and memories – and signposts the various ways individuals can offer their support, through either sponsoring a stone or donating.
The campaign hub in the garden is positioned in the old Duke’s glasshouse, and we designed a system of signs to inform visitors of the Cascade’s historic importance and its decline over the years.
