Complete website rebuild with integrated fixtures and results to capture the dynamism of basketball

Project Information

Uniting coaches, talent and educators in one place, Basketball England’s vision is to create a sport that’s accessible and inspires the wider population to be engaged in the game.

With a large website that had to function for several different audiences, Basketball England required a total website overhaul to make information easy to access while presenting basketball content in an engaging and exciting way.

To capture the dynamism of the sport, our digital team integrated video into the homepage, using portrait visuals to reflect the height of shooting a basket. New integrations also allow Basketball England to display their social content directly to the website, including archive game footage and interviews with players.

An extensive resource centre was designed to house the large document library needed by basketball coaches, players, volunteers, and officials. Because it was vital that information be easily retrievable, we built a document finder with multiple options to suit different users.

In collaboration with PlayHQ, we introduced several groundbreaking new features, enabling visitors to quickly find fixtures and results across divisions and game weeks. Easy-to-use filters make it possible for fans to discover match reports and player statistics from each individual game, and a Standings league table automatically updates. A club finder and court finder make it possible to uncover places to join the game, and #ProjectSwish (which was previously on a separate website) allows users to verify the location of their local basketball court and request nets and upgrades if necessary.

As a result, Basketball England’s new website is the must-visit location for basketball fans eager to keep up to date with the latest news and sporting tips.
