Building on the success of their core range of coffees, Huddersfield based coffee roaster Darkwoods launches their new coffee inspired by the drifting lifestyle of the otter.
Darkwoods new coffee will sit within the core range of coffees and will be called ‘Driftwood’ which will be a Columbian blend from the farm and region El Ata, Tolima, Colombia.
The otter is native to the British countryside. Otters are shy, reclusive creatures, they hang around rivers and water courses like canals and streams and hunt for fish and crustaceans under water.
Once at threat, they are now found all-over the UK in increasing numbers and often live in tight social groups. They can be ellusive and solitary too.
We reconnected with Swiss illustrator Julia Marti inviting her to capture the charming qualities of this often illusive character. The otter is captured here on their back, drifting, observing quietly as the world flows by.
