Authentic storytelling and brand consistency were vital for Los Poblanos, an organic farm and inn based in New Mexico with a long history and deep connection to the land. The business spans a hotel, farm shop, distillery and handmade skincare company, all of which need to remain true to the Los Poblanos brand while working successfully as independent parts of the wider business.
The various parts of the business are split across three websites and, when our digital team originally came on board, there was a lack of consistency between them. For example, the online shop was relatively dark while the venue’s website was light and bright. Our designers immediately addressed this, drawing on a neutral, warm palette for the farm shop website to mirror the hotel website and reflect the climate of New Mexico.
Additionally – our developers built a custom navigation bar that matched the main website, maintaining a consistent design language between the two. Clear links to the venue website were also added to the navigation – and vice versa – allowing visitors to move seamlessly between them.
As many of the products in the online shop are made using ingredients grown on the Los Poblanos farm or sourced locally, it was important to tell the story of the historic farm and link the website to the land.
On the homepage, just beneath the product categories, visitors see photos of the farm, both past and present, alongside a short paragraph about the location and its history. This links to a larger page tracing Los Poblanos’s history since 1934 and highlighting its work today.
The design of this page was also enhanced, creating an editorial feel that is engaging to read. Our team added simple illustrations to highlight the business’s priorities: grown on the farm, made by hand and regenerative farming. These icons also appear on each product page, reinforcing the Los Poblanos ethos.
The product pages were revamped to better showcase the natural and organic ingredients in each item. The skincare products, in particular, required additional storytelling as the lavender is grown, harvested and transformed into small-batch skincare on the Los Poblanos farm. On each skincare page, beautiful photography of the lavender and the farm connects the ingredients back to the land.
For each product, key ingredients can be selected to promote the benefits of the natural and organic elements. Storytelling was also strengthened so consumers could better understand how to use each product. Customer reviews are published live, increasing trust signals and boosting customer confidence, while a Related Products section helps guide visitors around the site.
Within the navigation bar, we also enabled featured products and collections in the dropdown menu to promote key items more effectively. These features are easy for the Los Poblanos team to use, ensuring that every new product can include the same useful information.
