Project Information

With a number of luxurious boutique hotels hosting destination restaurants, Dakota Hotels required a website upgrade that was both easy to navigate and showcased their unique dining experience. Every Dakota Hotel is designed to an exacting brief: bespoke furnishings, timeless style and a soothing palette greet every guest. The website therefore needed to mirror this attention to detail and the brand’s sophisticated interiors.

Capturing the Dakota Hotels spirit

Our digital team captured the calm, relaxed spirit of a Dakota stay by drawing on dark and muted tones, offsetting black with warming shades to create a cosy sensation. These colours echo the hotel interiors, allowing guests to experience the Dakota atmosphere before they even arrive.

The new design prioritises user experience, enabling customers to move easily between locations and quickly understand how to book a room. A booking bar at the top of the homepage lets guests check availability and prices immediately, increasing conversions and improving usability.

Highlighting The Grill restaurant

Each hotel includes The Grill – a signature restaurant that required its own dedicated presence on the site. While maintaining the minimalist design cues, structure and darker palette of the main website, we distinguished The Grill by utilising the colours, typography and branding already established in the menus.

Improved call to actions

The homepage features ‘Book a Table’ and ‘Book a Room’ call to actions side by side so it is easy for the customer to navigate to their desired goal. The introduction of clear offers that combine restaurant and rooms also highlights how the two Dakota elements work in unison.   

Built on a custom, easy-to-use CMS, the website allows the Dakota team to add new hotels and restaurants as the business grows. Within a matter of weeks, website users have already increased by 28.5%.
